
The No. 1 seed Martin County Lady Cardinals will take on No. 4 seed Magoffin County Hornets in the first-round game of the 57th District Tournament at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 20, at Paintsville High School.
The Lady Cardinals went 5-1 in district play and won the No. 1 seed for the third time in four years.
The two teams played each other twice during the regular season. The Lady Cardinals won both games.

Following the Lady Cardinals vs. Magoffin County game, the No. 3 seed Paintsville Lady Tigers will take on the No. 2 seed Johnson Central Eagles at 8 p.m. Johnson Central defeated the Tigers twice during the regular season.
The girls championship game will be Thursday, Feb. 23, at 7 p.m.
The Martin County Cardinals will play Johnson Central in the 57th District Boys Basketball Tournament at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22, at Paintsville High School.
The Cardinals went 4-3 in district play and will enter the tournament as the No. 2 seed. Martin County and Johnson County split a pair of games this season.

The boys tournament begins Tuesday, Feb. 21, with the No. 1 seed Magoffin County taking on Paintsville at 7 p.m.
The boys championship game is set for Friday, Feb. 24, at 7 p.m.

Admission for the tournament is a flat rate of $5 for everyone.
The doors will open at 5 p.m. each day.
The following activities and items are prohibited due to problems they have created in the past:
• No signs are to be displayed during the tournament in the gymnasium.
• No throwing objects onto the playing floor.
• No confetti or silly string allowed.
• No artificial noisemakers.
All fans are required to have clothing on at all times.
