WARFIELD — Martin County Middle School Wrestler Ashton “Parker” Maynard is the Mountain Citizen Player of the Week.

Maynard is the KFWC Middle School State Champion in the 130-weight class and is undefeated on the season with a 40-0 record.

A seventh grader, Maynard has won several championships this season at the youth and middle school levels, including Bobby Bates Youth Classic, Hatfield & McCoy, Bristol Brawl, and KFWC Middle School Region 4. He also bumped up to the high school level for three tournaments and won the Hatfield & McCoy 32, Ashland Invitational and Tates Creek Invitational.

Maynard is no stranger to state championships. He won state titles in youth wrestling in 2017, 2018, 2020 and 2021.

He is also a straight-A student.

Maynard is the son of Ashley Maynard and Ashton Maynard.
