Maynard named Middle School Softball Coach

Paige Maynard

Paige Maynard has been named the first ever Martin County Middle School Softball Coach. This level of softball was much needed for the county. Before this, athletes only had the option of county little league softball and then straight to the high school level. This team will serve as a good developmental program to prepare athletes for the high school level. Maynard is a former Lady Cardinal as she as 12 years of laying experience between county leagues and at the high school level. She has also been assisting the high school team for the last 2 years. Maynard is excited to start with the young group of Lady Card softballers and when asked she said, “I am beyond excited to coach the first ever Martin County Middle School softball team. This is something I have been talking about for many years now, and I am thankful I have received this opportunity. It is super difficult transitioning straight from little league to high school softball. From experience, I know how tough it was coming in as a seventh grader trying to compete with the high schoolers. I hope to make an impact on these young ladies and teach them everything I know to the best of my ability, on and off the field. I cannot wait to get the season started!”
