The Tug Valley Panthers added three wins last week against Sherman 88-55 at home, Van 82-55 on the road and Man 73-51 on the road.
Below is a recap of the action.
Tug Valley 88, Sherman 55
NAUGATUCK — Tug Valley had four players score in double figures as they downed regional foe Sherman 88-55 in a home contest Jan. 10.
Joey Gollihue and Parker Davis each scored 16 points, while Ashton Davis was close behind with 14 points and Kaden Hale added 13. Buddy Marcum added eight and Carson Newsome seven for Coach Rabbit Thompson’s Panthers.
The game was close after the first quarter. However, Tug Valley outscored the Tide 22-6 in the second period to take control.
Several players saw action in the contest for the Panthers.
Tug Valley came into the week ranked No. 5 in Class A in the Mountain State Associated Press poll and fourth in the coaches poll.

Tug Valley 82, Van 55
VAN — The Tug Valley Panthers jumped out to a 26-10 lead after one quarter and never looked back as they clawed the visiting Van Bulldogs 82-55 Friday night.
The Panthers had several players to score as the entire roster saw action.
Kaden Hale led TVHS with 11 points, Buddy Armstrong, Jace Hale and Aiden Armstrong each scored eight points, Braydun Ferris and Joey Gollihue scored seven each, Carson Newsome had six, Brady Brewer and Ashton Davis five each, Parker Davis four, and Paul Preece, Bryson Elia and Caden Brewer added two points apiece.
Tug Valley was 9-11 at the free-throw line for 82 % and shot 44 % from the floor, including 9-23 from 3-point land for 39 %.
Kevin McCarthy led Van with 19 and Shaun Booth followed with 17.

Tug Valley 73, Man 51
MAN — Tug Valley capped off a great week with its third win as the Panthers downed regional rival the Man Hillbillies 73-51 Saturday night.
The Panthers led 16-13 after one quarter and 30-23 at halftime.
A big third quarter saw Coach Rabbit Thompson’s squad outscore the home team 24-6 to build a comfortable lead.
Freshman guard Braydun Ferris had the hot hand in that third period scoring 15 points including a trio of 3-pointers.
Ferris finished with 19 points to lead Tug Valley in scoring against the Billies, while Parker Davis added 14 and Buddy Marcum 10. Ashton Davis and Joey Gollihue each chipped in eight points, while Kaden Hale and Jon Wagner each scored six points and Bryson Elia had two points.
Wagner and Gollihue each hauled in seven rebounds, while Marcum pulled down eight boards.
Caleb Vance led man with 21 points.
Tug Valley was ranked in the top 5 of both The Associated Press and Coaches polls in West Virginia last week.
The Panthers were slated to take on county foe Mingo Central on Jan. 17. They lost to the Miners in both regular season games last season, the first time in school history. So they may have revenge on their minds. That will be another road game for TVHS.
