Lady Cards JV defeats West Carter

OLIVE HILL — The Martin County Lady Cards JV defeated West Carter 29-22 on the road Thursday.

Both teams got out to a slow start offensively. The Lady Cards led at the end of the first quarter 8-6. Bella Muncy, Chloe May, Spaulding and Moore scored two points each in the first quarter.

The Lady Cards outscored West Carter 6-4 in the second quarter to take a 14-10 lead into the half.

Both teams managed only to score three points in the third quarter. The Lady Cards went up 17-13 going into the fourth quarter.

Chloe May and Hallie Mills picked up the offense, scoring four each in the fourth. Harless knocked down a 3-pointer to put the Lady Cards up seven 29-22.

May led Martin County in scoring with nine points, Hallie Mills scored six, Candace Spaulding added four, Sophie Harless finished with three, Bella Muncy, Jane Smith and Angelina Moore each netted two, and Sophie McCoy knocked down a free throw for one point. 

Cecil led West Carter with nine, Nolan added seven, Stamper netted five and Adams scored one.
