On his Sirius XM radio show Saturday night, Johnny Knoxville played a track from the Laid Back Country Picker’s new album “Go West” and announced that LBCP was his “favorite new band.”
The radio show, “The Big Ass Happy Family Jubilee” on Sirius’ Channel 60, Outlaw Country, is hosted by Knoxville and his first cousin, Tennessee singer-songwriter Roger Alan Wade and provides listeners with independent country rock from around the nation interspersed with comedic banter and stories.
Johnny Knoxville shared a clip of the Fallsburg-based troubadour’s song “LB’s Truth” as a story on Instagram on Friday December 30. The clip was from Laid Back’s session with Three Sheets to the Wind at the Down Home Grill in Louisa, which is a fundraiser for the Lawrence County Humane Society.
According to social media posts by LBCP, the two began a text exchange in which Knoxville requested to play “LB’s Truth” from the Down Home Grill Session on his live radio show.
“Oh boy, I love this band,” said Knoxville live on air after playing “LB’s Truth.” “My favorite new band.”
“We love Laid Back Country Picker,” confirmed Knoxville’s co-host.
