Virgil Ray ‘Bird’ Goble

1953—2023

Virgil Ray “Bird” Goble, 69, of Inez, passed away Jan. 1, 2023 at Martin County Healthcare Facility.

Born June 19, 1953 in Martin County, he was the son of the late Thornton and Aileen Goble. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, Willie Goble, and five sisters, Maggie Goble Flock, Nancy Goble Greer, Joyce Goble Howard, Jewel Goble Salyers and Ella Mae Goble Dalton.

Virgil is survived by a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family would like to extend a special thank-you to the nursing home staff that cared for Virgil.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, 2023 in the chapel of Crum Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Mountain Valley Memorial Garden. Friends may visit the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of the service Saturday. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses. Arrangements are under the direction of the Crum Funeral Home of Inez.
