Roger Sartin

1946—2022

Roger Trent Sartin, 76, of Stepptown, W.Va., passed away Dec. 19, 2022 at the Emogen Dollins Hospice House in Huntington, W.Va.

He was born Nov. 11, 1946, to the late Cebert Sartin and Irene Stepp. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers Ronnie Sartin and Danny Sartin and sister Eleanor Copley

Roger is survived by his loving wife Shelia (Marcum) Sartin and daughter Melissa (James) Bowen of Charleston, W.Va. He also leaves behind five grandchildren, James Nicholas Bowen, Emily Claire Bowen, Bradley Howell, Braxton Howell and Autumn Howell and a sister-in-law, Rose Mary Sartin.

Roger graduated from Kermit High School and joined the Air Force for four years. After that, he started an 11-year career with the railroad before joining Marrowbone Development for 20 years.

Funeral services were conducted Dec. 23, 2022 at Mullins Family Funeral Home in Warfield, with Bobby Perry officiating. Burial was at the Stepp-James Cemetery in Stepptown.
