CLEAR FORK — The Tug Valley Panthers won their season opener over Westside 63-52 Friday night at Clear Fork in Wyoming County, W.Va.
The Panthers of Coach Garland “Rabbit” Thompson trailed 13-12 after the first quarter but led 26-21 at halftime.
They pulled ahead in the final quarter outscoring the Renegades 17-8 to seal the road victory.
Sophomore Joey Golihue led Tug Valley with 16 points, while Ashton Davis was close behind with 15. Freshman Braydun Ferris also hit double figures scoring 13, while Parker Davis chipped in nine points and Buddy Marcum seven.
Jonathan Wagoner led the Panthers with nine rebounds, while Marcum hauled in six boards and Gollihue five.
Ferris dished out three assists.
Bryson Blankenship led Westside with 14 points, while Hunter Lester chipped in 11.
Tug Valley was scheduled to travel to Logan on Dec. 13 and host Belfry on the 16th.
