Jesse Staton

1942—2022

Jesse Staton, age 80, of Inez, passed away Dec. 6, 2022, at the Martin County Nursing Facility.

He was born March 10, 1942, in Martin County to the late Rush and Susie Stacy Staton. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, Hayes Howell, and three sisters, Maudie Sartin, Betty Jude and Gertie Jude.

He is survived by two sons, Jasper Staton of Paintsville and Jeffrey (Stephanie) Staton of Tomahawk, one daughter, Melinda (Randy) Horn of Inez, and one sister, Charity Karen Sammons of Louisa. Six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren also survive him.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Dec. 8, 2022, at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Crum Funeral Home, with Brian Crum officiating. Burial will follow at the Horn Blackburn Cemetery. Friends may visit the funeral home Wednesday from 5-9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses. Arrangements are under the direction of the Crum Funeral Home of Inez.
