“Behold, I have taught you statutes and judgments, even as the LORD my God commanded me, that ye should do so in the land whither ye go to possess it. Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the nations, which shall hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.” Deuteronomy 4:5-6
There are so many in the world today living without a clue of how this life is really supposed to work. They’ve spent their whole lives trying to stick the square peg into the round hole, and they’ve done it so long they now think it was made to never fit. So many, even many who claim Christ as their Savior, don’t understand how to live successfully in this life—how to live by the faith God has freely given them.
When I think about these things, I realize how privileged I have been, and how privileged many of you have been, to be exposed to the things of the Lord as we have. While it is true that the Word and the Spirit are available to anyone that will come, the Lord’s grace has conspired so that we have access to life’s greatest secrets to success, and for this we should be thankful! What do I mean? We, those of us that have access to God’s Word, are like those disciples of Jesus long ago mentioned in Mark 4:11. We are those that have been gifted with the opportunity to understand the mysteries of the Kingdom of God.
