Phillip Smith

1962—2022

Phillip David Smith, age 60, of Inez, Kentucky, passed away Nov. 17, 2022.

Born Nov. 12, 1962, he was the son of the late Elmer Smith and Imogene Flannery Smith.

Phillip retired as a bus mechanic and substitute bus driver from the Martin County School District. He became a truck driver after his retirement and enjoyed seeing new places. Phillip was an avid baseball fan and loved the Cincinnati Reds. His hobbies included his love of classic cars and remote control airplanes and helicopters. He loved his family unconditionally.

Phillip is survived by his wife, Naomi; three children, Matthew Smith, Adora Williams (AJ) and Annette Mackto; four grandchildren, Grace Mackto, Addison Mackto Melhtretter, Liam Williams and Connor Williams; and many other loved ones and friends.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday, Nov. 20, 2022, at Bethel Church in Inez. Burial was at the family cemetery on Moore Branch. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Crum Funeral Home, Inez, Ky., to assist with funeral expenses. Arrangements are under the direction of Crum Funeral Home.
