Sandra Lee Roberts Young

1947—2022

Sandra Lee Roberts Young, 75, of Varney, wife of the late James W. (JW) Young, was called to heaven Nov. 9, 2022.

Sandra was born Oct. 13, 1947 in Pike County, the daughter of the late Anna Sanders Looney and the late Dickie Roberts. She was raised by her maternal grandparents, the late William and Nanny Sanders. In addition to her parents and grandparents, she is preceded in death by one sister and one brother.

Sandra is survived by two brothers and three sisters. She is also survived by three children, Tonja (Scott) Arnold, James L. (Debbie) Young and Selenna Hylton. Her pride and joy were her eight grandchildren, Jami Lauren Young, Gentry Marie (Kyle) Simpson, Austin Channing Stevens, Sydney Grace Arnold, Savanna Lee Arnold, Quinn Morton Arnold, Riley Jean Arnold and Kaegan Dean Hylton.

The funeral was conducted Monday, Nov. 14, 2022 at Piso Freewill Baptist Church, with Bobby Mullins officiating. Burial was at the Young Family Cemetery, Varney, under the direction of Mullins Family Funeral Home of Warfield.
