WARFIELD – Noah McCoy played in his first basketball game on Friday at Martin County Middle School since being hit by a car this summer.

McCoy is an avid dirt bike rider and was riding when he was struck by a vehicle on July 3. The accident broke his femur which required surgery and physical therapy.

Noah bounced back quickly and was back on his feet three weeks after the incident.“I was so nervous and worried that I wouldn’t be able to keep up with the other players. But when I got in the game, I forgot all about my injury,” McCoy said after his first game back. “It felt so good to be back on the court helping my team.”

McCoy played for the Warfield Red Devils last year and is a great ball handler and shooter.

“I’m feeling so sore today and I’m nowhere near where I want to be or need to be.” McCoy is hoping he will be back to 100% by his eighth-grade year.
