Danny Ray Johnson

1959—2022

Danny Ray Johnson, 63, of Kermit, W.Va., passed away Saturday, Nov. 5, 2022, at the Tug Valley ARH Regional Medical Center in South Williamson.

He was born Feb. 7, 1959, to the late Robert “Bob” Johnson and Ethel Parsley Johnson. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Miranda Johnson; one sister, Pauline Ferguson; and brothers, Arvil Johnson, Archie Johnson, Bryant Johnson and Roger Johnson.

Survivors include Danny’s wife, Gracie Perry Johnson; one son, Danny Ray Johnson Jr. of Wayne, W.Va.; and one stepson, Charlie Garland of Kermit, W.Va. Five sisters also survive him, Lou Cresia Waller of Ft. Gay, W.Va., Juanita Mathis and Grethel Marcum, both of North Carolina, Ledonna Messer of Ohio and Rebecca Johnson of Kermit, W.Va.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2022, at the God’s Little White Church on Marrowbone Creek in Kermit, W.Va., with John David Messer officiating. Burial will follow at the Fitzpatrick Cemetery, under the direction of the Callaham Funeral Home, Inez.
