Sara I. Brown Herald
1937—2022
Sara I. Brown Herald, 85, of South Point, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, Oct. 16, 2022, at the Holzier Medical Center in Gallipolis, Ohio.
Born Feb. 1, 1937, in Dunlow, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Charles Thomas and Lillian Marie Asbury Brown. Sara is preceded in death by her husband, Elder Wayne Herald Jr., on July 16, 2018, and her daughter, Edna Marie Harold, and siblings, Imogene Moulder and Jim T. Brown.
She was a bookkeeper and worked for IBM in Westerville, Ohio, and Western Auto in Kermit, W.Va. Sara was also a member of the Tabors Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Ft. Gay, W.Va.
Survivors include her children, Ronald (Tammy) Herald of Lenore, W.Va., Doris (Richard) Ross of Wayne, W.Va., and Dr. Carlton (Tabby) Herald of Gallipolis, Ohio. Additional survivors include 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and her siblings Denny (Josephine) Brown of Ft. Gay, W.Va., Chuck (Pam) Brown of California, and Sue (George) Igel of Johnstown, Ohio. Sara also leaves behind her faithful fur baby companion, Charlie.
Visitation will be conducted from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, 2022, at the Tabors Creek Missionary Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m., with Denny Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Asbury Cemetery in Dunlow, W.Va. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the church to help needy families. Mullins Family Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
