Ludmila “Ludy” Cassady

1943—2022

Ludmila Bozena “Ludy” Cassady, 79, of Newark, Ohio, passed away Oct. 11, 2022, at the Selma Markowitz Hospice Care Center.

She was born May 12, 1943, in Prague, Republic of Czechoslovakia, to the late Vladislav and Ludmila (Svecova) Svec.

She is survived by her brother, Vladislav Josef (Teresa Christina de Toledo) Svec of Brazil; nephews, Rodrigo de Toledo (Karina Amar) Svec of Brazil and Daniel (Leticia) Svec of California; great-nieces, Lara Amar Svec and Beatriz Amar Svec; stepdaughter, Constance Elaine (James H.) Nunamaker of Miamisburg, Ohio; grandchildren, Amy Pokorski of Monroe, Ohio, Tammy Meyer of Dayton, Ohio, and Jimmy Nunamaker of St. Petersburg, Fla; great-grandchildren, Kyra Dickerson, Connor, Cody, Cory and Cameron Collins, Austin, Abby and Jacob Pokorski, and Justin Nunamaker.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Cassady, and granddaughter, Joanne Cassady.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Ohio.

Ludy was loved by everyone. Ludy loved hosting parties and entertaining at her home. She worked at Smith Brogan’s Insurance for 26 years.

A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Monday, Oct. 17, 2022, at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, with Dave Pagura officiating. The family will receive friends 3-4 p.m. Monday before the service at the funeral home, 985 N. 21st St. Newark. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2022, at Cassady Cemetery in Inez.
