INEZ — Tyra Madison, originally from Knott County, just released a music video for her new single “Bridesmaids.” The video features Martin County’s own Kaitlyn and Wesley Hager.
The video was filmed at the scenic Sunset Ridge Farm in Morgan County and features Madison singing in front of a chapel where the main characters, played by the Hagers, get married, along with other typical wedding scenes.
“It actually felt like we were almost getting remarried again,” said Kaitlyn Hager.
Madison plays one of Hager’s bridesmaids in the video. While Madison was not able to participate in Hager’s actual wedding in March due to a scheduling conflict, their friendship is very much real and dates back to childhood.
“Tyra and I were on the same dance team since we were little,” said Hager referring to Dance Etc. in Prestonsburg. “She knew I got married in March, so she just messages me up and she was like, ‘Hey you want to do this video?’”
The video was filmed in a single day from 8 a.m. to around midnight.
“It was like a full day shooting. It was hard work out in the Sun,” said Hager.
Hager enjoyed the shoot and appreciated getting to relive her wedding in a more drawn-out setting.
“During a wedding, you don’t get to really take in that much because you’re so busy,” said Hager.
Kaitlyn Hager is a Pharmacy student at the University of Kentucky and Wesley Hager is a teacher at Martin County Middle School. While the couple has no plans to appear in any more music videos, “if she ever asked us to do another one, it would be cool and we’d be up for it.”
