INEZ — Martin County Sheriff John Kirk’s Office reported the following arrests:
April Hickman, 35, of Inez, was arrested Tuesday for receiving stolen property over $300. Sheriff Kirk and Deputy Chris Kidd responded to a report of a verbal at a residence on Little Rockcastle Road. When officers arrived, Billy Geer advised the sheriff that Hickman had stolen “a bunch of items” from his house. Hickman stated she took the things but that Geer had given them to her. Geer denied giving the items away. Hickman retrieved the items from her vehicle and returned them to Geer at the scene, stating “some” were given to her.
Justin Mollette, 32, of Inez, was arrested Tuesday in Inez on third-degree burglary. Deputy Kidd made the arrest.
Ruby M. Chaffins, 47, of Inez, was arrested Monday in Inez for possession of a defaced firearm and a fugitive from another state warrant out of Mingo County, W.Va. Deputy David Adams reported that while he was serving Chaffins with the fugitive arrest warrant, Chaffins asked if she could go inside her residence to get shoes. The deputy followed her inside. When Chaffins sat down, the deputy observed a loaded 9mm pistol next to her. Adams said he asked Chaffins about the gun, and she stated the serial number had been scratched off. The deputy identified the gun as a model C9 9mm Luger with one magazine containing seven rounds.
Karen Cornette, 50, of Inez, was arrested Monday on a parole violation (for a felony offense). Officer Ward made the arrest.
Kody Endicott, 28, of Inez, was arrested Monday for first-degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine). KSP Trooper Salyer made the arrest.
Carmel Stacy, 41, of Debord, was arrested Sunday for contempt of court libel/slander resistance to order.
Jason Fields, 37, of Lovely, was arrested Saturday on Riverfront Road in Lovely on a fugitive from another state warrant and violation of an EPO/DVO. Fields with his ex-wife, who has an active DVO on him. Deputy Adams made the arrest.
Charles Stephens, 55, of Prestonsburg, was arrested Saturday in Lovely on two bench warrants out of Floyd County. Deputy Adams made the arrest.
Lara Davis-Giacomoni, 39, of Lovely, was arrested Thursday on Route 292 in Lovely on a parole violation warrant. Deputy Adams made the arrest.
Ronald Crum, 43, of Tomahawk, was arrested Thursday in Tomahawk on a bench warrant in a DUI case. Deputy Kidd was the arresting officer.
Christopher Timms, 33, of Inez, was arrested Aug. 17 on KY-645 in Inez for third-degree burglary, first-degree criminal mischief, theft by unlawful taking $10,000-$1,000 and two bench warrants. Deputy Kidd made the arrest.
Matthew Thompson, 21, of Tomahawk, was arrested Aug. 17 in Inez for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of a substance and operating a motor vehicle under the influence and operating on a suspended or revoked license. Deputy Kidd stopped Thompson on KY-645 for driving on the white center and side lines. Kidd said Thompson had glassy eyes and was shaking.
“When asked if he was under the influence of any substance, he stated he had done a dab earlier,” Kidd said. “He also stated that he ate meth but thought it had been a couple of days.”
Stevie Hackney, 60, of Holden, W.Va., was arrested Aug. 17 at the Salem Corrections Center and Jail in Salem, W.Va., and extradited to Kentucky to face multiple felony charges. Sheriff Kirk served Hackney with a bench warrant and an indictment warrant. Hackney is facing two counts of possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (2 grams or greater), first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (less than 4 grams cocaine), first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (less than 2 grams methamphetamine), second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (less than 20 units drug unspecified schedule 3), third-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (greater than 20 units drug unspecified). The charges stem from a drug bust in October 2020 on Riverfront Road in Lovely.
Joshua Scott, 35, of Inez, was arrested Aug. 17 on Fitch Branch Road in Inez for drug paraphernalia-buy/possession, first-degree possession of a controlled substance (drug unspecified) and four bench warrants. Sheriff Kirk was at a residence on Fitch Branch investigating a break-in. Kirk went next door to a neighbor’s house to discuss the case and found Scott sitting inside a garage with a needle getting ready to shoot up. According to the sheriff, Thompson had an orange-colored pill inside a tin can, which Thompson stated was suboxone.
