INEZ — Former Martin County High School basketball star and Morehead State University player Brady Dingess helped his former Cardinal team with training last week and liked what he saw.
“The guys are hungry right now, very willing to get better and get back on the court,” Dingess said. “They all are working hard.”
Dingess showed the Cardinals some things he and his MSU teammates work on.
“It’s a lot of solid fundamental work,” said Dingess. “This week went really well. I enjoyed working with my guys.”
Dingess began playing at MSU this summer after he received a scholarship to play for the Eagles.
On his time thus far with MSU, he said, “Morehead is awesome. I love it. It’s the dream I have always worked and prayed for.”
Dingess is known for being a workhorse.
“It’s tough, hard on your body, but nothing some ice baths can’t help with,” he joked.
That work ethic has followed him to MSU.
“My days start around 6 a.m. with strength training, individual/small group work position specific, conditioning, then team practice,” said Dingess. “I’ll finish the night with some extra work with shooting and ball handling, and I’ll normally take around 600 shots.”
On top of having 5-6 workouts daily, Dingess managed to fit in a summer class and received an A.
Dingess will be returning to campus Aug. 11. He and the team will be delivering items and helping with flood cleanup in affected areas.
