INEZ — Three Lady Cardinals played with AAU basketball teams this summer. Chloe May, Angelina Moore and Alyssa Allen traveled with their respective teams to cap off a busy break.
A long, athletic shooting guard, May can handle the ball well. She played in five tournaments with the OV Lady Dragons and will be a freshman for Coach Robin Newsome. May averaged 10 points a game and had several double-doubles.
“Playing AAU this season has helped build confidence in myself in different areas of my game. I’m hoping I can take that experience into the upcoming season to help my team,” May said.

Allen played shooting guard for the Tri-State Pride and coach Ronnie Smith. Her team played primarily out of Huntington, traveling to Cincinnati, Indianapolis, Ashland and Portsmouth.
“It was a great experience playing for Coach Smith,” Allen said. “It’s probably my favorite AAU team I’ve played for. It’s helped me gain more confidence on the floor and gave me a lot of exposure to coaches at the next level.”
Moore was a member of the Tri-State Pride eighth-grade team. She plays down in the paint and has made vast improvements this past year.
