CHERRYVILLE — A Lawrence County man was arrested Friday for allegedly shooting his wife during an argument.
Kentucky State Police Post 14 received an assist call from the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office just after midnight about the shooting that occurred on Rockcastle Lane in Cherryville.
Police determined Herbert Fletcher, 43, of Cherryville, shot his 41-year-old wife, Kelly Fletcher, for an unknown reason.
Herbert Fletcher was arrested and lodged at the Big Sandy Detention Center on first-degree assault charges.
Kelly Fletcher was transported to Three Rivers Medical Center but later moved to Pikeville Medical Center for further treatment.
The case remains under investigation by Detective Jeff Kelly.
