Raymond Haney

1939—2022

Raymond Haney, age 83, of Tomahawk, passed away July 18, 2022, at Community Hospice in Ashland.

Born March 7, 1939, in Martin County, he was the son of the late Abraham Haney and Serilda Fannin Haney. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Aneita Haney, five brothers, Ernest Haney, Lawrence Haney, Russell Haney, Mike Haney and Hobert Haney, and two sisters, Margie Castle and Loraine Collier.

Survivors include two sons, Mike (Bernadette) Haney and Craig (Joann Kolota) Haney; one daughter, Janine Rae Raines; one sister, Phyllis Reeves; his niece, Kathy Ballard; his nephews, Jackie Haney, A.J. Haney, Gary Haney and B. W. Castle; and special niece, Betty Pope. Additional survivors include five grandchildren, Michael Dean (Jennifer) Haney, Desiree (Tate) Harmon, Christopher Raines, Keagan Haney and McKenzie Haney, and four great-grandchildren, Avree Harmon, Raymond Easton Harmon, Skylar Salisbury and Harrison Tate Harmon.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Loretta Bowen, Pauletta Bowen, Matthew Johnson, Tammy Whitt and Tracey Vanover.

Raymond was a retired teacher and coal miner, as well as a referee and a farmer.

Funeral services were conducted Thursday, July 21, 2022, in the Crum Funeral Home chapel, with Larry Goble, John Goble and Jim McKenzie officiating. Burial was at the Haney Family Cemetery, under the direction of Crum Funeral Home of Inez.
