CORBIN — Eastern Kentucky-based southern rock group County Wide’s new single “Fool Speed” is set to release July 22.

The upbeat driving song is an anthem about making mistakes and adjusting to the road life leads you down.

County Wide has been playing together in the Corbin area for over 10 years. They officially formed the band in 2014.

The band has toured all over the U.S. and are certainly no strangers to the road. County Wide told the Mountain Citizen they are looking forward to a tour “down south” later this year with “let’s just say, the greatest country band of all time.”

Like many other musicians and entertainers, the group saw a sudden drop-off in momentum at the start of 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Fool Speed” is a landmark for County Wide, marking their resurgence in momentum now that they are out playing shows once again.

According to the band’s lead singer and songwriter Aron Bunch, “Fool Speed” is one of their strongest representations of  “how we play.” The song is “what we sound like at our core.”
