Pauline Akers
1927—2022
Pauline Akers, 95, entered her heavenly home Thursday, June 23, 2022, at ARH Hospital in South Williamson.
She was born May 11, 1927, to the late Thomas Moore Sr. and Cora Lee Parsley Moore. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Fred Monroe Akers, sisters Ruth Moore, Ruby Messer, Delphia Moore Kennedy and brother Thomas Moore Jr.
Pauline is survived by her son George Thomas (Brenda) Akers of Pilgrim, daughter Joyce Ann Akers of Kermit, W.Va., and sisters Anna Ford, Rosa Mae Moore and Tenna Pemberton, all of Columbus, Ohio. Additional survivors include special friends Brenda Tomsovic and Jerry and Carol Farley, who she claimed as her children; friend and close neighbor Elaine Messer, who she loved dearly; and special nephews Bruce Akers, Conrad (Jo) Messer and Glenn (Bonnie) Moore.
Pauline liked to sing and was a prayer warrior for her Lord. She was a member of the Kermit United Baptist Church.
A special thanks to her loving caregivers, Cora Stanley, her cousin, who she loved like a daughter, and Dr. James W. Endicott, who took good care of her.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, June 25, 2022, at the Warfield Chapel of the Callaham Funeral Home. Burial was at the Mountain View Memory Gardens in Maher, W.Va., under the direction of Callaham Funeral Home, Inez.
