“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” Galatians 6:9
There is a harvest coming, a payday if you will, for the people of God. In spite of what it looks like in our current moral economy, or maybe because of it, we are quickly drawing nearer to the time long prophesied in Scripture, the time of the restitution of all things, the time when injustice will bow to justice, and light will extinguish the darkness of this age. It is an exciting time to be alive when you keep this truth in mind, knowing that the turnaround may be just around the corner!
Last week we wrote to you concerning a theme found in the verses of Psalm 37. There we read that there’s a payday on the way for both the righteous and the wicked. For one group, it will be longing fulfilled and an abundance of life. For the other, retribution for denial of the one true God! We went on to relay that those who are going to receive the blessing might be difficult to identify in the day and age we are living in, especially if you are only looking at the current state of the world.
It would be easy to look around us and feel that the wicked of this world have won, but we must remind ourselves that that’s not God’s reality. The truth of the matter is that what we see is temporary, and subject to change at any moment. Finally, we looked at a few reasons why sometimes the wicked do prosper, at least temporarily.
