Helen (Johnson) Bowen

1945—2022

Helen (Johnson) Bowen, 76, of Inez, passed away June 26, 2022.

Born Sept. 2, 1945, in Martin County, she was the daughter of the late Albert Johnson and Mary Dalton Johnson. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Paul Edward Bowen, son Paul Bowen, brothers Willie Johnson, Alvin Johnson and Donnie Johnson, and sisters Ada Warren, Virgie Maynard and Ruth Maynard.

She is survived by one son, Willie Johnson; three brothers, Delbert Johnson, Claude Johnson and Albert Johnson Jr., all of Ohio; and four sisters, Shirley Branham, Maggie Stepp and Bonnie Collins, all of Inez, and Bessie Pruitt of Thelma. She is also survived by grandsons Brad Johnson and Zack Johnson, great-granddaughter Rylan Elaine Johnson, and a host of nieces and nephews that she loved very much.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 30, 2022, in the Crum Funeral Home chapel. Burial will follow at the Bowen Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home 6-9 p.m. Wednesday. Arrangements are under the direction of Crum Funeral Home of Inez.
