INEZ — School starts Aug. 10 for students in Martin County.

The 2022-2023 calendar has been released and includes 185 contract days — 170 instructional, four holidays, four professional development, one opening, one closing and five professional learning.

Aug. 2, 3, 4 and 8 are professional development days. Opening day is Aug. 9 and the first day for students is Aug. 10.

Sept. 5 is a holiday, and there will be no school Sept. 16.

Fall break is on the schedule Oct. 3-7.

Students will relax at home Nov. 7 and 8 while their teachers attend professional learning days.

There will be no school Nov. 23, 24 and 25.

Winter break will be Dec. 19-29.

Jan. 2 is a holiday and students return to school Jan. 3.

Jan. 16 is a holiday and the last break until the spring break April 3-7.

May 16 is closing day, with May 17-19 reserved for professional learning.
