CITIZEN STAFF REPORT
LOUISA — Contractor CSI will begin work on KY 3 in Lawrence County to repair an embankment failure starting Wednesday.
The project area is along KY 3 at 7.52 miles north of KY 292 and 5.30 miles southeast of KY 644.
Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 12 says the work should take approximately three weeks to finish and will consist of drilling vertical steel rails and using horizontal cribbing material to stabilize the roadway.
According to District 12, the project will require large equipment that will restrict the roadway widths to one lane during construction. Traffic will be stopped periodically in areas where the roadway widths are too narrow.
Expect long delays 7 a.m.-6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, District 12 says.
Traffic lights will be used to control traffic for the duration of repairs.
