Cassady Avenue in Inez is safe again after the Martin County Road & Bridge department finished repairs Friday.

The road slipped more than a year ago and deteriorated to the point that it was dangerous, according to Inez Commissioner Dennis Hall and Terry Fraley, who reached out to Martin County Magistrate Jarred Goforth for help.

Hall said the county put rock into the slip and on the embankment, and Goforth committed to asking the county to replace the asphalt. Hall and Fraley thanked Goforth, road & bridge supervisor Titus Marcum and Martin County Judge/Executive Colby Kirk for the effort.
