James Calvin ‘Jim Buck’ Lambert Obituary

James Calvin ‘Jim Buck’ Lambert

1944—2022

James Calvin “Jim Buck” Lambert, was called to his heavenly home May 7, 2022, after a hard-fought illness. He was 78 years old.

Born Jan. 19, 1944, in Chattaroy, W.Va., Jim was the late Samuel Chester and Minnie (Ward) Lambert. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Betty Jean Little and Margaret Ann Barker.

Jim is survived by his wife, Judith Gail (Howell) Lambert; children, Robin Lynn (Jody) Browning, Kimberly Ann Collins, James Samuel (Nikki Evans) Lambert and James Cody Lambert; grandchildren, Anna Nicole Browning, Jessica Danielle Browning, Sara Makenzie Browning, Alisha Kaitlyn Collins, Dakota Lee Fitzpatrick, Samantha Lin Lambert and Chandler Allen Burgess; great-grandchildren, Alexis Rayne Lambert, Matthew Gage Lambert, Cameron Bryce Lambert, Landon Kayde Lambert, Dominic Lee Paige and Maeleigh Jaye Davidson; his last surviving sister, Reva Gail Maynard; and a multitude of friends.

He attended Chattaroy High School. He served as a member of the Chattaroy High School Reunion Committee for many years. He was a member and past Master of the O’Brien Lodge 101 and served as a Master Mason for a number of years. He was a member of the KCCH Scottish Rite and a member of the Beni Kedem Shrine.

Jim was a dedicated member of his community and could always be found standing at his barber’s chair, telling stories and laughing with his patrons and friends. No one who ever entered the Friendly Barber Shop left as a stranger. As much as he loved being a barber, he loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren even more. He loved to brag about them and tell stories of their many accomplishments, sports involvement and antics that kept him laughing. When he was not at work in the barbershop, he could be found listening to the Cincinnati Reds on the radio or watching the Cleveland Browns or WVU Mountaineers on television.

A memorial service to celebrate Jim’s life will be held Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at the Hatfield Funeral Chapel in Toler. The service was officiated by Reverend Bobby Perry, Reverend Harrison Baisden and Reverend Haskell Runyon Jr. Masonic Rites were accorded by the O’Brien Lodge 101.
