Sherman Spaulding
1934—2022
Sherman Spaulding, 88, of Kermit, W.Va., passed away at his home Wednesday, May 4, 2022.
He was born April 19, 1934, to the late Lonnie and Mae Spaulding. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Lula Marcum Spaulding; three sons, Michael Spaulding, Mathew Spaulding and Sherman Spaulding; brothers Alonzo (Deloris) Spaulding and Jack Spaulding; sisters Becky (Ira Lee) Messer, Georgia Cleo and Lucretia Spaulding; and special friend Pat (Varney) Robinson.
Sherman is survived by daughter Betty Spaulding and grandson Justyn Spaulding, both of Crum, W.Va.; sister Polly Mae (Lloyd) Dunnigan of Murengo, Ohio; brothers Wallace (Sue) Spaulding, Roscoe (Jackie) Spaulding, Alex (Judy) Spaulding and Jess (Lushie) Spaulding, all of Crum, W.Va. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and his grand-cat Pixil.
Sherman was a retired Showcase worker (Columbus, Ohio), coal miner and school bus driver (Wayne County Board of Education). He was a dedicated family man and church member who loved living life to its fullest. He was the No. 1 fan of the Tolsia Rebels and loved watching the Cincinnati Red and Cleveland Browns.

Funeral services were Saturday, May 7, 2022, at the Warfield Chapel of the Callaham Funeral Home, with Jess Spaulding officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Callaham Funeral Home of Inez.
