INEZ — Martin County Sheriff John Kirk’s office and the Martin County Constables reported the following arrests:
John D. King, 41, of Louisa, was arrested Friday on Trade Ridge on a Lawrence County indictment warrant charging him with first-degree rape and unlawful transaction with a minor, second degree. Deputy Tyler Lafferty made the arrest.
Kimberly Cole, 32, of Martin, was arrested Thursday in Inez on a bench warrant out of Floyd County. Deputy Wesley Endicott made the arrest.
Jayme Ratcliff, 39, of Prestonsburg, was arrested April 27 in Inez on a bench warrant out of Lawrence County. Deputy Braxton McGinnis made the arrest.
Homer Evans, 65, of Lovely, was arrested April 26 in Lovely on failure to wear seat belts, no registration receipt, no registration plate, failure to produce insurance card, possession of controlled substance (methamphetamine) and prescription drug not in proper container. Deputy Lauren O’Bryan stopped Evans for not wearing a seat belt. The deputy says she asked if Evans had anything illegal on him, and he stated he had a needle and prescription suboxone in one of his pockets. She says while searching his pocket she found a loose pill identified as Gabapentin, located a small tin aspirin container in the same pocket. The deputy says inside the container was a crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine and a round green pill labeled TEVA 833, identified as Clonazepam.
Karen Cornett, 50, of Inez, was arrested April 26 on Riverfront Road on an indictment warrant. Endicott made the arrest.
Clayton Jude, 48, of Warfield, was arrested April 26 in Lovely on public intoxication of a controlled substance (excludes alcohol). Constable Bradford Preece reports he received a complaint of a male subject “walking out of Big Branch looking at people’s mailboxes and talking to them.” He made contact with Jude walking on 1714 and gave him a field sobriety test.
All defendant’s are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
