IRVINE — Senora May played the Mountain Mushroom Festival Saturday in Irvine. During her performance she announced that she would be taking the rest of the year off from music due to finding out she and her husband Tyler Childers will be having their first baby.

“I’ll let my baby daddy come up here and finish my set,” Senora said before Tyler Childers took the stage to play a medley of his greatest hits including Lady May, a somber love ballad about his relationship with Senora.

Tyler Childers is a Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter from Lawrence County. Senora May is also an acclaimed singer-songwriter from Estill County. Both eastern Kentuckians are also social justice advocates and founded the Hickman Holler Appalachian Relief Fund together.
