Martin County dropped two games last week to Paintsville 10-2 at home and 2-1 on the road.

INEZ — Martin County stayed in it until the end, but Paintsville pulled away late in the 10-2 victory April 13 at Cardinal Park.

Paintsville trailed 2-1 in the top of the fifth inning when Baron Ratliff homered on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring three runs.

Martin County struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Paintsville, giving up 10 runs.

The Cardinals got on the board in the first inning on a Greyden Proctor sac fly.

Paintsville knotted the game up at one in the top of the second inning when an error scored one for the Tigers.

Paintsville scored six runs in the sixth inning. The Tiger big bats were led by Gunner Collins, Zach Taylor, Jonah Porter, Grayson Peters and Collins, who each had RBIs in the inning.
