Martin County Middle School finished the first week of the 2022 baseball season with two wins and a loss. The Cardinals fell to Williamson 16-8 and defeated Floyd Central 7-4 and Magoffin County 6-5. Below is a recap of the games.

Wolfpack vs. Cards

Martin County Middle School Baseball opened the season at home March 25 against the Williamson Wolfpack.

The Cards got their bats going early and jumped out to a 7-2 lead after three innings, but things went downhill from there.

Williamson scored seven runs in the fourth inning and added another seven in the fifth. This proved to be more than enough for the Wolfpack as the Cardinals only managed to add one more run to make the final Williamson 16 and MC 8.

Despite some fielding errors and mental mistakes, there were some bright spots for the home team. Aiden Mann pitched very well, striking out seven over three strong innings.
