PILGRIM — A vehicle fire that broke out near midnight Monday resulted in a loss of a pickup truck and damage to a home in Pilgrim.
Warfield Volunteer Fire Department responded to 322 Pigeon Roost Road, where a caller reported his truck was on fire next to his house. Eight firefighters responded with Engine 11.
Upon arrival, firefighters found the truck already partially extinguished by neighbors. Crews fully suppressed the fire, soaked the side of the house to prevent further damage and checked the walls for remaining heat.
Officials say the truck was a total loss and the residence sustained heat damage to its siding.
No injuries were reported.
